An agreement which provides for the construction of an Industrial Complex at the Ameur Seflia Commune, in the Gharb Cherarda Beni Hssen Region was signed under the Effective Presidency of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, the Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy, Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy, and the Chairman of the Management Board of PSA Peugeot Citroën, Mr. Carlos Tavares, at the Palais des Hôtes, in Rabat.

This industrial unit will assemble from 2019 engines and vehicles of segments B and C covering the needs of the region and Moroccan customers and will reach a production of 200,000 vehicles and 200,000 engines in the long term.

Starting 2019, this industrial unit for the assembly of engines and vehicles of segments B and C will cover the needs of the region and of Moroccan customers reaching a production of 200,000 vehicles and 200,000 engines within the agreed deadlines.

Relying on a competitive supply market on the national territory, this industrial project will be a booster for the progressive evolution of the industrial system as well as on the increase of engineering activities necessary for the project, thus allowing the realization a local integration rate of 60% at the start of the project and 80% at term. The performance of local suppliers of automotive equipment will enable them to benefit from very significant growth in their activity and will generate an export supply of components and automotive parts for a volume of one billion euros per year.

The project will create 4,500 direct and 20,000 indirect jobs in the component supply and engineering sectors. As such, the project will contribute to the development of a Research and Development sector, ultimately reaching 1,500 engineers and senior technicians.
